GREATLEAP members have the opportunity to publish their research free of charge in the Open Research Europe Special Collection “Multidisciplinary approaches to historical health inequalities, 1800–2022”, with publication fees fully covered by the platform. In addition, we now invite proposals for other publications that contribute to the dissemination of research carried out within the network.
This open call welcomes proposals for books, edited volumes, special issues, and open-access journal articles related to the themes and research questions of the Action. Proposed publications should clearly engage with the goals of GREATLEAP and involve collaboration among Action members or Working Groups. Interdisciplinary contributions and initiatives involving early-career researchers are particularly encouraged.
Funding may support costs related to publication and dissemination, such as editorial assistance, language editing, layout, or open-access fees, in accordance with the COST Annotated Rules for COST Actions (p. 107-108) and COST dissemination guidelines. All supported outputs must acknowledge the GREATLEAP COST Action and comply with COST visibility requirements.
Eligible costs include:
Publication fees in fully open-access scientific venues (Gold Open Access only)
Proofreading, editing, translation, and layout expenses
To be eligible for funding, the proposed publication must meet the following criteria:
The maximum GREATLEAP contribution is €1,000 for single articles and €2,500 for books or edited volumes
The publication must involve Action participants from at least three different COST Member Countries, or participants from at least two different COST Member Countries if the publication results from an STSM funded by the Action
The publication must be fully open access, and no embargo period is allowed
The final publication must be submitted in PDF format before September 2027
