Description
To be able to have more impact GREATLEAP opens a Call for Proposals for Host Institutes to create a small project for a visiting scholar during their Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM). This call is open for scholars who are able to host a scholar between 1 and 3 months. In general the proposed project should aim to achieve more understanding about long-term/historical inequality in health by studying cause-specific mortality. Next to this, the aim of this call is to strengthen existing networks and foster collaborations with other institutions.
Contribution
Next to offering support in selecting qualified candidates, we can contribute a maximum of 2.500 euro to a visiting scholar to cover their travel, accommodation, subsistence expenses and project implementation. The grant for the STSM will be paid directly to the visiting scholar.
Application
You can apply for being a host during the period January 2025 to October 2026. The deadline for our first call is 15 September 2024, but please be aware that we are accepting proposals on a rolling basis. A selection committee will decide which proposals are accepted for funding. Please prepare the following information for your proposal:
- Location (person/institute);
- Possible period (months/year) and length of visit;
- A preliminary title;
- A short description of the topic/theme of the proposed project, including how it strengthens the main objectives of GREATLEAP (200-500 words);
- Possible output/outcomes of the project;
